We've never stayed at the inn, but stop for lunch every time we're in Hill City. The lunch offerings are delicious and fairly priced.I appreciate the effort the owners go to on the outside curb appeal of the inn. No matter the season, the inn looks fun, welcoming, and over the top in the best of ways! At Christmas time, be sure to stop for a photo and stay for a meal!
We stopped in for lunch while we were in Hill City. They were very busy, but we were sat immediately since there were only of us. Our waitress was friendly and took our order shortly after being seated. I think they forgot about us because our food took a very long time to come out. We saw others who were seated after us getting their meals. Our waitress did apologize and our food was good when we were served.
Went for lunch and, as usual, it was delicious and filling. It is the last day they are open for the Season and they were very busy. I recommend this place, although it seems that I really don't need to, since it is already so well known! I had the smoked pork chop plate and my husband had a hamburger. Both meals were excellent. We had a really good waitress and a very pleasant experience.
We visited here for the first time on a certain day in November 2025. We came here to eat lunch. We ordered a Hot Coffee , a Arnold Palmer , a Kassler Rippchen from German Specialties and a Filet Mignon Burger from Sandwiches. The staff were very kind and helpful.
A ~$20 9 oz filet mignon that includes a wedge Iceburg lettuce salad (homemade ranch is incredible), baked potato and two pieces of Texas toast-you can’t beat it. It was so good we went here twice during our vacation. Also, their dessert is incredible. We had a Carmel Apple strudel and then a pumpkin strudel as well. Highly recommend getting to the restaurant around 4P to add your name to the dinner list so you’re not waiting too long to be seated. Even earlier for Friday/Saturday night. Highly recommend checking this out when you’re in the area!
Great lunch sandwiches and a nice Dunkel to wash it down is tough to beat. Dessert menu is massive and it’s all fantastic. Fast and friendly staff especially given how busy they always are.
We love coming here at night for filet mignon and for lunch for German food. You can’t go wrong with any of the desserts. They are all amazing. The staff all seem to love their jobs and are very friendly.
We came for the filet special and were not disappointed. Amazing food and service. The dessert? over the top. We stopped in a couple of days later for lunch and found the pork schnitzel as good as I’ve ever eaten. The spatzle was incredible. Yes, this restaurant is CASH ONLY, and it is written plainly on the front door, so if you’re surprised, then it’s your own fault.
